So a long awaited rematch with my Chaotic friend John - my Tyranids were eager to revenge themselves after the fiasco of our last game (1500vs 16??)

Chaos Army List (approx)
Daemon Prince - Mark of Khorne, The Black Mace
Khorne Bezerkers (10) - Rhino
Marine Squad (10) - Plasma Gun, Heavy Bolter
Marine Squad (10) - Plasma Gun, Heavy Bolter
Obliterators (3)
Obliterators (3)
Obliterators (3)
After my friend realising how powerful Obliterators are he decided to go for an extremely unbalanced army list relying almost entirely on it's heavy support. I'd also learned from experience that the Daemon Prince was something I couldn't take lightly - now that my Lashwhip & Bonesword combo didn't render it impotent
The Setup
Turn 1 Chaos
My lucky
Turn 1 Tyranids
Straight in for the kill. My strategy was to neutralise his troops choices asap to stop them claiming any objective points. It worked way better than I was expecting. The Ravener's huge movement and a lucky charge roll meant they went to work straight away.
Turn 2 Chaos
Having sufficient combat strength to crush the Raveners with his Oblit's the Daemon Prince could continue to hide behind the building by the tape measure. Another uneventlful turn of shooting where a lot of bullets bounced off my last remaining Zoan. The other shots were targeted at the Hormies which were getting ready to charge out.
Turn 2 Tyranids
In a desperate attempt to draw out the Daemon I sent the Hormies and Carnifex's into combat with the Obliterators. What resulted was a whole lot of nothing but rather surprisingly one got brought down in either combat. So not bad all in all. A well placed warp blast from my Hive Tyrant managed to crack the shell on the rhino to get at those tasty Bezerkers as well.
Turn 3 Chaos
What Carnifex? Hormies? Where I don't see any? 11 smacks with a Black Mace later and all manner of bugs have been squished. The Bezerkers also managed to make a marathon sprint across the board, assualting 11"! on top of their 6" move. Four got dragged into obvlivion by my new Hive Tyrant, who was clearly pissed off I didn't give him any weapon upgrades. Then...they did nothing in return. Probably way too knackered after that run.
Turn 3 Tyranids
The Mawloc makes it's fateful, terrifying appearance - hitting directly under the Obliterators and pounding a wound out of each of them. Then tempting fate my friend asked if it could die from perils of the warp - Only on a roll of 1 I laughed -- rolling a 1. Well at least it earned it's points cost, like your Daemon Prince. Wait, what Daemon Prince? Having poured all remaining sourced of firepower into it, my Warlord HT performed a desperate charge and managed to slay it, abeit taking two wounds himself. His poorer relation HT meanwhile was chewing through the remaining Zerks as the gaunts decided points were for the taking and progressed up the board.
Turn 4 Chaos
The remaining Obliterators -- well -- obliterated my Hive tyrant and his Warriors leaving three Objective tokens sitting halfway between a squad of Marines having a picnic in the castle and my remaining gaunts.
Turn 4 Tyranids
Mopping up the remaining Obliterators was satisfying. The game was as good as over. My friend decided rather than risk the oncoming monsters he'd hole up and wait for the dropship. Starship Troopers style.
Turn 5 Chaos
Dismal shooting. Scared Marines - the beginning of the end.
Turn 5 Tyranids
1 spray of Shreddershard Beetles and my friend called it GG
Victory Tyranids
11VP - 7VP
