I entered Tesco on my way to secure ingredients for my first fully home made pizza (See below mouth watering article).
A mad rush was taking place around the flower stall. A last minute snatch and grab should make for interesting viewing I thought till I saw it wasn't the flowers they were snatching at. A reduced rack rested precariously by the entrance and shoppers thronged around it like flies to the rotting produce. Old woman seem to have developed a code of conduct for this bonanza and offer each other duplicates before piling their spoils into a moutain of bargains.
I didn't mean to stare, I don't like staring so awkwardly hovering waiting to strike. Waiting for my photo opportunity. For fear of being caught I loaded my pizza recipe on my phone and walked into the assembled crowd.
I'll be damned, in an old woman's hoard were two pots of the sauce I needed for the pizza. I doubted the kindness would extend outside the regular bargain crew. I slunk away, back to the ghostly wanderings of the other regular pricers. Shopping this late on Valentine's day. Seems there's a scene for everything these days. I'll definitely think twice before braving Tesco on a Sunday...
Happy Valentine's day
